Children between 4 and 9 years old
Sometimes babies already have cranial asymmetries, which will result in asymmetries of the jaws.
Then, some elements can “deform” the jaw. This is the sucking of the thumb or pacifier (or even the late holding of baby bottles) which prevents the front teeth from meeting, or a breathing disorder that can cause an asymmetry difficult to correct at older age. In addition, the tongue, which directs the position of the mandibles, sometimes takes too low a position and does not push enough on the palate which does not widen then sufficiently.
In the case of a young child, the device will be used to correct the shape of the jaw that has been deformed. It is therefore best to consult your orthodontist between 4 and 6 years!
